Stasher is an eco-friendly alternative to plastic zip-top storage bags. Many consumer throw the plastic kind away after one use. Stasher is a reusable zip-top storage bag made of food-grade silicone. You can seal a Stasher bag however you like — it’s self-sealing — and it can go in the freezer and microwave, oven or boiling water. The entrepreneur behind the sturdy and sustainable Stasher, Kat Nouri, pitched her business on Shark Tank in January 2018. She went into the Tank seeking an investment of $400,00 in exchange for five percent equity. She made a deal with Mark Cuban — $400,000 for 15 percent with a $400,000 line of credit.
After Shark Tank, stasher has announced that its products are now available in Pottery Barn Kids and Target stores nationwide. In April, stasher was named as a finalist in the 2018 World Changing Ideas Awards presented by Fast Company. Nouri’s big challenge now is how to protect her intellectual property from knock-offs.
