Who Is Jane Bond Addict Client on ‘Reverie’?

In the Reverie episode “Bond. Jane Bond.”, a client named Rachel Kauffmann becomes addicted to a “Jane Bond” adventure. It’s up to Mara (Sarah Shahi) to help her assemble the missing pieces in her life to save her.

Client Rachel Kauffmann is portrayed by Ahna O’Reilly. O’Reilly is known for her roles in the films Jobs (mother of Steve Jobs’ first child, Chris-Ann Brennan), Fruitvale Station (Katie), As I Lay Dying (Dewey Dell), The Help (Elizabeth Leefolt, verball abusive mother of 3-year-old Mae Mobley), and Forgetting Sarah Marshall (Leslie), among others.She’s also a certified doula! See photo below. Reverie airs Wednesdays at 10pm on NBC.

I took a Doula workshop because I wanted to be a more educated and active support system for my friends and sisters when they become mothers. I learned about how to guide and empower women as they bring life to earth. There’s a lot I don’t know, but here are some of the things I do know now: I’m in awe of birthworkers; the uterus grows 33 times it’s original size; I never want to be mean to my body ever again; every mother is a hero no matter how she chooses to give birth (if she’s even given a choice); there are huge racial disparities in birth outcomes and every woman deserves supportive and humanizing care during pregnancy (AND ALWAYS, OBVIOUSLY). The meaning of this workshop taking place a year after the Women’s March wasn’t lost on me–I now have one more tool in my toolbox for helping women find and use their voices, and consequently for finding and using my own.
