At 15, Brynn Cartelli is the youngest contestant who’s made it to The Top on Season 14 of The Voice. Compared to the others, Brynn lacks in years — but not in emotion. She delivers every time and Challenge Week will be no exception. Each artist chooses a song that reflects a personal challenge that they have overcome. Brynn is singing Coldplay’s 2005 hit “Fix You.” Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin was married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow at the time and wrote it for her when her father died. Paltrow’s mother, actress Blythe Danner said, “I weep every time I hear it.”

Paltrow’s father was Bruce Paltrow, the director behind TV series The White Shadow and St. Elsewhere, among others. Paltrow suffered from oral cancer for many years before he died at the age of 58 in 2002. Note: Brynn’s parents, Deb and Damon Cartelli, are alive and well and very proud of Brynn. Young Brynn will have someone else in mind, someone she wants “to fix” while singing. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
