On the season 7 premiere of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, all the ladies meet at a club and watch Jamaican dance hall queen Spice perform on stage. After the show, they sit down for a drink and catch up. Rasheeda Frost is still waiting to hear the results from Kirk’s DNA test, and Sierra Gates announces that she’s going ahead with a divorce with Shooter. On a more positive note, Jessica Dime is glowing now that she’s engaged to ex-NBA basketball player Shawne Williams. And Mimi is all smiles sitting next to her tall new girlfriend Tamera “Ty” Young, a 6’2″ basketball player in the WNBA.
Mimi says she and Ty have been talking on and off for a number of years but they never dated due to Ty always being on the road for her job. Mimi says Ty was recently traded from Chicago to Atlanta, hence their recent hook up. When Ty tells all of Mimi’s friends that Mimi is “feisty but still a sweetheart,” they release a group, “Aawww!” Before playing for the WNBA, Ty played at James Madison University. Fun fact: Ty went to the same high school in North Carolina as Michael Jordan! In February 2018, Ty signed with a team in Las Vegas. Love & Hip Hop Atlanta airs Mondays at 8pm on VH1.
