Four families are living together for 10 days of group therapy on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars, Family Edition. There’s a lot of attitude in the house provided by former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville, Mob Wives star Renee Graziano, and Teen Mom star Amber Portwood. Amber brought her then-fiancé Matt Baier, and her mother Tonya Portwood. (Amber’s father Shawn Portwood, Sr. died in 2012 at the age of 50 after a battle with liver cancer.)
On the Season 10 premiere of Marriage Boot Camp, before the therapy begins, the reality stars and their families introduce themselves to one another. Right away a bond is formed between two mothers. Love & Hip Hop‘s Jim Jones‘ mother and Amber’s mother. On the terrace, they talk about being there for their children. Tonya’s mom is soft-spoken and has an Indiana accent so thick that sometimes subtitles are provided. The Portwoods are from Anderson, Indiana (population 56,129). The town suffered greatly after its biggest employer General Motors left in 2006. In 2013, 25.8% of the city’s population was estimated at living below poverty level vs. a statewide estimation of 15.4%. Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars Family Edition airs Fridays at 9pm on WEtv.
