The Voice is back for its 14th season. During the second round of Blind Auditions, all four coaches are blown away by Pryor Baird. Pryor sings and performs on electric guitar the 1966 song “I Don’t Need No Doctor” which was first recorded by Ray Charles. During Pryor’s performance, it doesn’t take long for Adam Levine to hit his buzzer. Blake Shelton, Alicia Keys, and rookie Kelly Clarkson follow suit. Pryor receives a standing ovation from all four coaches. The first coach to speak is Kelly: “Look at you up there with that guitar and that unbuttoned shirt. Come on!”
Pryor reveals that he’s 35 years old, from the small town of Old Orcutt, California, and that he sold everything he had seven years ago and moved to Nashville. Kelly screams, “That’s where I live!” She can’t seem to help herself from saying, “You look like a man, a sexy man!” (Pryor politely says thank you.) Adam jumps in calmly and tries to appeal to Pryor as a guitarist. Adam tells Pryor the sound he makes with his guitar is “singular” and “unique.” Pryor takes that as “a big compliment coming from you” and says, “Likewise.” Sounds like a Bromance in the making. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
