Tony Chan of Los Angeles, California is the entrepreneur behind CoolPeds, a company that designs and makes lightweight electric scooters that carry removable briefcases. You can ride it to and from a train station, from the office to the parking lot, or in between classes on a big campus. The briefcase is easy to remove, and the foldable scooter (which weighs 11 lbs.) can go up to 15 mph, and comes with a removable, rechargeable battery that can also charge a phone! (One charge provides about 7 miles of travel.) Chan is pitching his business on Shark Tank on February 18. He’s seeking an investment of $250,000 in exchange for 5 percent equity.
CoolPeds is selling its electric scooter briefcase for $479 online with free shipping. On the website you can also follow a link to CoolPed’s electric car Ampere which will sell for $9,900. The company is currently accepting $200 deposits for an Ampere order (a free electric bike is included!). New episodes of Shark Tank air Sundays at 10pm on ABC.
