Ryan Kenny is the entrepreneur behind The Christmas Tree Hugger. It’s a product designed to make artificial Christmas trees look like real trees. The Christmas Tree Hugger is wrapped around to the stem or pole of the fake tree, and comes with a reversible pattern so you have different designs to chose from — dark wooden bark, white birch, or candy cane stripes. It’s tagline is “Fix the Fake!” Kenny is pitching his business on Shark Tank on Sunday, December 3, just three weeks before Christmas.

Kenny has the bad luck of pitching The Christmas Tree Hugger in front of Kevin “Mr. Wonderful” O’Leary who is quick to voice his disinterest in seasonal business. However, Robert Herjavec invested in Tipsy Elves, which started out making ugly sweaters for the holidays, and in 2012, Mark Cuban invested $150,000 in The Living Christmas Company. Kenny sells The Christmas Tree Hugger for $17.99 online (see link above). It’s getting 5-star reviews on Amazon with comments like “Why didn’t I think of that.” Shark Tank airs Sundays at 9pm on ABC.
