In the Kevin Can Wait episode “Kevin Moves Metal,” as part of a security job, Vanessa (Leah Remini) and Kevin (Kevin James) go undercover at a car dealership. While she makes sure there’s enough coffee for customers, Kevin is supposed to be working as a janitor. But when Kevin gets on the showroom floor, he accidentally sells a car to a customer. He finds himself likely to be named top salesman of the month by the dealership owner Jerry.
[Check out Whitlock as Maddox in VEEP]
Car dealership owner Jerry is portrayed by Isiah Whitlock Jr. He’s known for his roles on The Mist (Gus Bradley), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (Captain Reece), Veep (George Maddox, see link above), and The Wire (State Sen. Clay Davis, who was known to say “sheeeeeeeee-it”), among others. Whitlock is also recognized for his roles in the films CHiPs (Peterson), Cars 3 (River Scott), and in Spike Lee’s Chi-Raq (Bacchos) and 25th Hour (Agent Flood). Whitlock is working with Spike Lee again on his forthcoming film 311 (see photo below). Kevin Can Wait airs Mondays at 8pm on CBS.
