Two Harvard MBA grads, Wombi Rose and John Wise, are the founders of Lovepop, a line of 3D greeting cards. They pitched their business on Shark Tank in December 2015. They accepted a $300,000 investment from fellow Bostonian Kevin “Mr. Wonderful” O’Leary in exchange for 15 percent equity.

Since Shark Tank, Lovepop continues to grow. There are more than 300 designs available in 950 retail stores across the country, and Lovepop has been busy building cross-promotional partnerships. In May 2017, Lovepop made paper sculptures for the Billboard Music Awards. In September, Lovepop struck a deal with bookstores associated with the American Booksellers Association. Lovepop says “We aren’t in any big box retailers” and that independent bookstores “are among our better customers.” And this holiday season, if you’re window shopping on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, you’ll see Lovepop in the windows of ultra luxury retailer Henri Bendel (see photos below).
