In the Season 5 finale of Ray Donovan, “Time Takes a Cigarette,” Ray (Liev Schreiber) is told by his anger management therapist Dr. Brogan (C. Thomas Howell) that he’s a severely traumatized person. Brogan tells Ray that blames himself for the trauma inflicted on him by others. “It’s destructive,” Brogan says. “Forgive yourself,” says Brogan. Ray asks in disbelief, “Forgive myself for what?” Cut to the funeral of pregnant movie star Natalie James (Lili Simmons). Ray and his client, Hollywood exec Sam Winslow (Susan Sarandon) arrive together. Sam’s nemesis Doug Landry and his wife and two kids are there too. Keep in mind: Landry was the father of Natalie’s unborn child.
Pacific Pictures executive Doug Landry is portrayed by Michel Gill. Gill is known for his roles on House of Cards (President Garrett Walker), Netflix’s The Get Down (Mr. Gunns), Mr. Robot (Gideon Goddard), and in the 2016 TV movie Who Killed JonBenet? (as the missing girl’s father John Ramsey), among others. Fun fact: Gill is married to actress Jayne Atkinson (Secretary of State Catherine Durant on House of Cards). They’ve been married for 19 years and have one child. Ray Donovan airs Sundays at 9pm on Showtime.
