Shark Tank will feature four businesses started and run by millennial entrepreneurs on the October 22 episode. One of them is Mirmir, a high-end photo booth invented by two photographers from Los Angeles, California, Sean Spencer and Ryan Glenn. During their presentation, they get all five Sharks — Mark Cuban, Daymond John, Kevin O’Leary, Lori Greiner, and Robert Herjevac — to participate by taking a fun group photo. Spencer and Glenn claim that the technology behind Mirmir can make anyone look beautiful — even the photo-loving, always posing perfect Kardashian/Jenner clan (see mirmir photos below). Mirmir might just have some connections beyond what got them in front of the Sharks — getting marketing help from the Kardashians and Jenners is not an inexpensive partnership. Mirmir also is clearly not afraid. Kardashian photos have been known to occasionally “break the Internet” — but this is evidently sturdy technology. And the Kardashians are just a start: a galaxy of celebrities –from Julia Louis-Dreyfus to Jay-Z — shines at the Mirmir website, with their booths finding spots at all the hot events.
Using Mirmir is easy: just look into the mirror and pose. A number of photos will pop up on the screen. Chose your favorite (Mirmir can customize prints with messages too) and share via your phone or get tangible prints instantly. It can also produce gifs and videos! Or as they say: “photo images combined into amazing sharable animations. From branded overlays to animated backgrounds, the options are endless.” Mirmir is currently available in Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, San Francisco, Toronto and Montreal. They’re hugely popular at weddings. Shark Tank airs Sundays at 9pm on ABC, right after America’s Funniest Home Videos.
