Actor and indie darling Zach Braff (Scrubs, Garden State) probably won “most trenchant tweet” during the Emmys regarding the heartbreaking appearance of former Trump Press Secretary Sean Spicer. Somehow the Emmy writers and producers thought having Spicer come out and reprise his role as a liar would be hilarious. A lot of people didn’t think so — and the idea that “normalizing” Sean Spicer so soon after his turn as a press-bashing Trump stand-in was too much for many. Why? Can’t Spicer, who is now at Harvard, be demonized instead of praised for his contempt for the media and his role in disinforming the American public?
