During the Season 8 MasterChef episode “A Mexican Tag Team Challenge; The Great Outdoors,” the top nine home cooks are asked to create a dish based on their favorite family breakfast using Nutella. And then the top eight face a fresh fish challenge at Big Bear Lake. If you think these challenges sound easy, why not apply for Season 9? MasterChef is looking for home cooks and is hosting casting calls across the country. On September 9 they’ll be in Chicago and Atlanta; on September 16 they’ll be in Phoenix and Raleigh; and on September 23 they’ll be in New York and Miami. Here’s how to audition:
- Pre-register for a casting call online.
- Show up at the casting call with a completed application form.
- If you cannot attend a casting call in person, make a 5-10 minute video and send it to MasterChef. (Deadline is November 4.)
Keep in mind you must be 18 years or older to apply, must be a legal citizen of the U.S., and can have no professional experience as a chef. MasterChef airs Wednesdays at 8pm on FOX.
