On Steve Harvey’s Funderdome, two laundry-related products go head-to-head. Klean Collar is a product to keep shirt collars clean while Basketmate is a hybrid of a laundry basket and bag. The inventors of Basketmate, brother and sister Yusuf Jamaludeen and Najma Jamaludeen of Virginia, start their Funderdome presentation with a rap that sings the praises of the product that expands to fit any size basket. Klean Collar and Basketmate are competing for $20,000.
Ten years after its invention, Basketmate, the clever double-ended drawstring mesh bag made it onto the shelves of Bed, Bath & Beyond in 2014. But it is no longer available on the Bed, Bath & Beyond website. The Basketmate is currently available on Amazon (see link above) and is selling for $9.99 on the company website. Steve Harvey’s Funderdome airs Sundays at 9pm on ABC.
