Lonzo Ball lit up Vegas and Philadelphia like a combination of Bugsy Siegel and Ben Franklin in the Lakers Summer League win over the 76ers. But Ball’s triple double (featuring 36 points) wasn’t the only Magic Johnson-type night in the desert. The Phoenix Suns had their own desert scorcher in Josh Jackson — a 20-year-old wearing number 99 who was giving 110 percent on every play in the Suns 97-81 win over the Jazz.
Jackson, the 6’8″ one-and-done forward out of Kansas, scored 21 adding eight boards and an unrelenting chase-down presence on defense. Jackson showed tremendous athleticism on both ends, scoring in the paint and from the outside, and flashing a handle that Kyrie Irving might admire.
