In the Teen Mom OG episode ‘Blue Christmas’, while Amber Portwood cries over her daughter Leah not making her a Christmas tree ornament, Tyler and Catelynn Baltierra go snow tubing — just the two of them. On the mountain, they have a blast outside but when they come inside, the conversation turns serious. Catelynn suggests to Tyler that they should do something as a couple once a month. While holding hands, they agree to keep things open and honest between them. Tyler says soberly, “Our job as a couple is to make each other feel safe.”
Tyler goes on to say what he needs from his wife is for her “to be a little more receptive to things” and “to not jump to conclusions.” He continues the conversation by asking if she “wholeheartedly believes that I’m not going to leave you.” She doesn’t answer. Teen Mom OG usually airs Mondays at 9pm on MTV.
