Ohio’s Republican governor John Kasich, who ran for U.S. President in 2016, will be the top billed guest on Real Time with Bill Maher on May 5, the day after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the American Health Care Act aka Trumpcare. On May 4, Governor Kasich said of the passing of the act: “While there have been some modest changes to this bill, it still remains woefully short on the necessary resources to maintain health care for our nation’s most vulnerable citizens.” In March, Kasich addressed the bill on Meet the Press, “We’re talking about lives. … We better be careful we’re not losing the soul of our country because we’re playing politics.” The bill now moves to the Senate.

Kasich is promoting his latest book, Two Paths: America Divided or United, which reveals what he saw and experienced “on the front lines of one of the most divisive and corrosive campaign battlegrounds in history.” Real Time with Bill Maher airs Fridays at 10pm on HBO.
