The Real Housewives of New York City returns to Bravo with a new cast member, Tinsley Mortimer. She is the ex-wife of Topper Mortimer, grand-grandson of Standard Oil president Henry Morgan Tilford and a descendant of John Jay, the first chief justice of the United States. The couple met in high school (Lawrenceville School) and married in 2002. When the socialite separated from her husband in 2009, she starred in a reality show, ‘High Society’ in 2010, which wasn’t well received. In 2012, she started a tumultuous relationship with 30-year-old Alexander “Nico” Fanjul, son of sugar baron Alexander Fanjul.
[Left: Before her arrest, Tinsley Mortimer wrote Southern Charm: A Novel]
In April 2016, just one year ago, Tinsley Mortimer was arrested for trespassing at Fanjul’s million-dollar home in Palm Beach, Florida. She spent 3 hours in jail. Two days prior to her premiere on RHONYC, Mortimer mentioned that it was just one year ago that “I was taking a mug shot!” See below. Real Housewives of New York City airs Wednesdays at 9pm on Bravo.
