One hour before Shark Tank, ABC will premiere its new reality competition show The Toy Box with host Eric Stonestreet (Cam on Modern Family). Toy designers come on the show to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges (kids!) who get to decide which toys get made by Mattel and sold exclusively at Toys R Us. But, before the designers/entrepreneurs get to the panel of kid judges, they must pass muster with a panel of mentors including Dylan Lauren of Dylan’s Candy Bar.

Dylan Lauren says she was inspired by watching Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (when she was 5!) to open the largest candy store in the world. In 2001, she founded Dylan’s Candy Bar in Manhattan. Now there are 16 retail locations. While building her empire, she was named one of the Top 25 Most Stylish New Yorkers by US Weekly in 2007, and in 2011 she got married and wore a bridal gown of her father’s design. (Her father is fashion world icon Ralph Lauren of Polo fame.) Dylan is also the mother of twins who are about to turn two. See family photo below. The Toy Box airs Fridays at 8pm on ABC.
