On the Braxton Family Values episode ‘Opposing Counsel’, while Towanda Braxton goes at it in her custody battle with her ex-husband Andre Carter over their two children, Tamar is celebrating at home with her husband Vince Herbert. She just finished recording “an amazing” track for her next album. “It’s a special song that I wrote and it’s real, real close to home.” She says she’s real nervous about playing it for her mother Evelyn. She wrote the song about her mama and her daddy and their situation. (Her father remarried 30 days after divorcing Evelyn.)

Vince tries to reassure Tamar, “Well, music is supposed to be inspired by something” but that doesn’t help her nerves. “I’m super nervous to play the song for my mom because it’s going to bring up a lot of old feelings about infidelity” says Tamar. That said, she plans to play it for her and her sisters at Trina’s Pop Up in Atlanta. Braxton Family Values airs Thursdays at 9pm on WE.
