On the RuPual’s Drag Race episode ‘Reality Stars: The Musical,’ YouTube star Todrick Hall directs the queens in a Broadway musical about the most famous of reality stars, the Kardashian family. (“All About that Bass” singer Meghan Trainor is a guest judge.)
In 2016, The New York Times reviewed a real-life musical about the Kardashians — “Katdashians! Break the Musical!” – a “very unauthorized parody” that featured Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian as cats — or Kats. They sang and danced suspiciously like the legendary Broadway show Cats. At the end, the character Bruce Jenner becomes Catlyn (both were portrayed by transgender performer Peter Smith). Katdashians! Break the Musical! opened at the Elektra Theatre on June 16, 2016 and closed July 30, 2016. RuPaul’s Drag Race airs Fridays at 8pm on VH1.
