In the second episode of The Toy Box, a piñata backpack is pitched to the kid judges. The inventor demonstrates how it works by strapping one on. When he screams “Pinata Backpack” the kids can chase after him and pull the string to release the candy. As kid judge Sophia Grace describes it “It’s like tag but with candy.” The inventor agrees, and adds, “I’m like a human piñata.” Kid judge Aalyrah is impressed. Toby says “It’s the best of three worlds because everyone can have fun; people that are chasing them can lose weight; and then gain the weight that they lost by eating all the candy.”
The Pinata Backpack is similar to the Candy Cannon that was pitched last week. Both are great ideas, but once the candy is released, that’s it, right? The final toy selected by the kids will be manufactured by Mattel and sold exclusively at Toys R Us. The Toy Box airs Fridays at 8pm on ABC.
