There are many talented children performing on the Little Big Shots episode “The Snail Whisperer,” including the 6-year-old girl who can coax snails out of their shells, and a family of fiddlers, but the showstopper is a 12-year-old singer from Wales named Reuben de Maid. On Little Big Shots Reuben sings the torch song “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” from the Broadway hit Dreamgirls. (Jennifer Hudson sang it in the 2006 film which helped her earn her a Best Supporting Actress Oscar.)
When Little Big Shots released a sneak peek of Reuben giving the song everything he has (see below), many compared him to the late George Michaels. As Steve Harvey says, there’s no doubt that “he’s going to be a major star.” Little Big Shots airs Sundays at 7pm and 8pm on NBC.
