In the Little Big Shots episode ‘Bend It Like Bella’, Bella refers to 10-year-old contortionist Bella Gantt of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. She started taking contortion lessons when 7, and has upped her game by mastering a new skill, foot archery. Bella’s performance on Little Big Shots will remind America’s Got Talent fans of Sophie Dossi the contortionist who also also wows audiences when balancing herself on her hands while shooting a bow and arrow with her feet. Or, they might be reminded of archer Merida in the Disney film Brave. (People kept telling Bella she looked like Merida and suggesting she up archery, so she did. She talks about it in the video below.) On Little Big Shots, Bella pretty much is Merida.

Being a contortionist and a foot archery expert takes a lot of practice. Bella works out at Dance Extensions Performing Art Center in Canonsburg where her instructor Ms. Shuttleworth has admitted that Bella has shot out a Plexiglass window in the dance studio. “We fix whatever needs fixing,” she says with a laugh. Bella has performed with Le Petit Cirque, the all-children circus which perform on Little Big Shots earlier this season.” Little Big Shots airs Sundays at 7pm and 8pm on NBC.
