In The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills episode ‘Hong Kong Fireworks’, the women are in Hong Kong, technically, to support Lisa Vanderpump as she tries to stop animal cruelty. While there, Dorit and Erika go at it (Erika accuses Dorit of being a bullsh-tter) but there is also a tender moment. In a park, Erika sits down with Kyle Richards and tells her about her recent visit with her mother in Georgia. “My mother did something that I wasn’t expecting,” Erika tells Kyle. “She apologized for being hard on me growing up.” Erika’s mother told her she was a good wife, a good mom, “and then she paused, and I asked ‘and a good daughter?’” That’s the line that got Kyle teared up.
Erika says now she looks at her mother and her heart breaks for her because “a lot of her dreams went unrealized.” Erika says her mother “placed that on me and that’s a heavy burden.” She adds, “That’s hard for a kid to handle.” Kyle then talks about her experience with a psychic who said Kyle’s mother was present during the reading. He told Kyle: “She wants you to know that you’re not responsible for your sister Kim.” Kyle’s mom tells the psychic to tell Kyle, “Thank you for being a better mom than [I] was.” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Tuesdays at 9pm on Bravo.
