Nathan Carman, the 22-year-old who was lost at sea for eight days after his boat sank in September 2016, agreed to be interviewed on ABC 20/20. He was on a fishing trip with his mother Linda Carman, 54, when the boat sank. Her body hasn’t been found; she is presumed dead. On 20/20 he is grilled by ABC News correspondent Linzie Janis who points out to Nathan that he was the last one to see his mother and his wealthy murdered grandfather before they died. “Do you know how that looks?” Janis asks Nathan. “You are either the most unlucky man alive or you had something to do with those deaths,” says Janis. Nathan Carman walks out during the interview.
Janis joined ABC News is 2013 where she reports on Good Morning America, World News Tonight with David Muir, Nightline, and 20/20. She was the first TV journalist to interview Hulk Hogan after he won his legal battle with Gawker Media, and she broke the story about the New York Attorney General suing Trump University. Prior to ABC, the American journalist anchored a daily business news broadcast on Bloomberg TV from London, the city where she started her career at CNN International as a reporter and producer. (She earned a degree in journalism from The University of the Arts London.) Fun facts about Janis: She is married to Good Morning America producer John Ferracane, and she is 6’2” tall. 20/20 airs Fridays at 10pm on ABC.
