In The Rap Game episode ‘So Hype!’, Jermaine Dupri brings in a focus group of kids. Behind a double mirror, he brings in his young rappers to hear the feedback. “These little kids are going to tell you exactly what the f—k is going on.” While the kids love Nova, the focus group is confused about the gender of Deetranada/Dee. One girl says, “I don’t know if it’s a girl or a boy.” Another girl who was trying to provide helpful feedback about Dee said, “It looked like he was having fun with it.” Behind the mirror, Dee (who is 15 years old) is correcting the fellow girl in disbelief, “It’s a she. It’s a she.”
After the focus group, Nova lets the feedback get to his head. Dee reminds Nova, “You’re not going to be number one all the time.” Then JD puts the rappers back in front of the kids in the focus group to perform. The Rap Game airs Fridays at 10pm on Life.
