In the Madam Secretary episode ‘The Race’, while Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) has to persuade Israel and Iran to take part in peace negotiations, at home the McCords receive a visit from Henry’s (Tim Daly) brother Shane (John Ellison Conlee) and niece Sarah. Over breakfast, it’s announced that Sarah is leaving college to join the Army. While Henry congratulations Sarah, “Good for you, Sarah. Serving your country is an honor.” Elizabeth reveals a look of concern.
Sarah is portrayed by Emelyn Daly, daughter of Tim Daly who plays her Uncle Henry McCord. Emelyn Daly appeared in an earlier episode of the show, when Henry’s father dies. Tim Daly’s son Sam Daly has also appeared more than once as Daisy’s ex-boyfriend Win Barrington. Madam Secretary airs Sundays at 9:30pm on CBS.
