SurfSet Fitness, the company that makes surf-inspired exercise equipment, was pitched on Shark Tank in 2012. They brought in pro surfer Lakey Peterson to demonstrate. Billionaire Mark Cuban saw potential for the company to expand its business and provide professional surfers to teach classes. SurfSet Fitness made a deal with Cuban — $300,000 for 30 percent equity.

Since Shark Tank, SurfSet Fitness has set up locations in more than 29 different cities including New York City and Hong Kong. Celebrities have been spotted using the boards too including rapper Vanilla Ice and Victoria’s Secret model Martha Hunt. See Vogue‘s video below.
