In Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, fans will get to know hair care heir Eden Sassoon. Her father, Vidal Sassoon, was “the most famous hair stylist in the world” back in the day when he was styling Mia Farrow and Goldie Hawn. Sassoon’s chain of hair salons and line of hair care products made him a millionaire in the 1960s and beyond. In 1966, Vidal Sassoon married his second wife, Canadian-born actress Beverly Adams and they had four children including Eden and her big sister Catya.

Catya Sassoon was born in 1968 and raised in Beverly Hills. She dropped out of Beverly Hills High School at the age of 14 and pursued modeling in New York. She appeared on the covers of Seventeen, Brides and Cosmopolitan, among others. When 15, she met 18-year-old Luca Scalisi (son of the film producer), and they got married in Vidal Sassoon’s home. The marriage didn’t last long. Catya pursued acting. By 21, Catya was battling drug addiction and went to rehab. She got sober, got remarried and become the mother of three. On New Year’s Day 2002, at the age of 33, she was found dead in her home. David Campbell of the LA County coroner’s office reported that she died of a heart attack brought on by an accidential overdose of the painkiller hydromorphone.
