Wé McDonald is one of the Top 11 on The Voice, Season 11. She surprised everyone at her Blind Audition when she spoke after her performance of “Feeling Good.” (Her speaking voice is much higher than her low, powerful singing voice.) As one of two singers left on Alicia Keys’ team, We is getting lots of great advice from Keys and guest advisors including Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Garth Brooks. But she’s also getting “great advice” from celebrities outside of the music industry.

In October she ran into standup comedian Sinbad at the airport. We said he “was so nice and gave some good advice!” Sinbad knows how talent shows work. In 1985, he competed on Star Search, the talent show hosted by Ed McMahon. Sinbad won his round against fellow comedian Dennis Miller who went on to Saturday Night Live, and made it all the way to the finals. Sinbad lost Star Search to John Kassir but soon after was cast for The Redd Foxx Show. Sinbad later starred in the spin-off of The Cosby Show, A Different World as Coach Walter Oakes. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
