Two stay-at-home moms in Portland, Oregon, Mel Lay and Gwenie Kelley, have discovered the art (and commerce) of silkscreening. They launched their designer kids’ clothing company, SandiLake Clothing, in 2014, and have sold more than 20,000 shirts. They’re known for featuring mottos like “Stay Wild” and “It’s a serious gig bring a kid.” Mel is pitching the business (with two decked-out kids in tow) on Shark Tank on October 21. ABC promises that Mel “learns a valuable business lesson.”
