Jeremy Lin led his team in minutes played — a sentence that has been unthinkable since Lin left the Houston Rockets. (Lin started all 82 games his first year in Houston.) It was just a preseason game against the Miami Heat — and a 121-100 loss for the Nets too. But Lin’s 24 minutes demonstrated to his fans that at least one big part of what he’s been working on — making shots — seems to be paying dividends.
Lin shot 5-of-8 from the field for 62.5 %, making two of three 3s (67%) and 4-of-5 free throws (80%). Lin grabbed three boards and dished five assists with just two turnovers in the loss, leading the Nets in scoring with 16 points.
