On the Shaunie’s Home Court episode ‘His Super Sweet 13,’ Shaunie O’Neal, ex-wife of NBA player Shaq and mother of five, tells her sister Cori and her mother, Dear, that she’s thinking about letting her son Shaqir plan his own birthday party. He’s turning 13. It’s a tradition in the O’Neal house. “Oh lord,” Cori says in disbelief. Dear doesn’t say a word.
Shaqir is excited when he hears the news and says, “Yes, it’s gonna be lit.” Shaqir is asked to describe “lit” to his grandmother. Shaqir explains “it’s slang kids use to describe fun.” The quick exchange is sweet at first, until Shaqir asks his mother if he can have strippers.
