I Want to Draw a Cat for You was an online service that created and delivered, custom-ordered stick figure cat portraits. Steve Gadlin of Chicago pitched the business on Shark Tank in 2012 and made a deal with tech billionaire investor Mark Cuban ($25k for 33 percent equity). After selling close to 19,000 portraits ($9.95 each) over three years’ time — grossing over $300k — Gadlin closed shop.
