The Season 4 premiere episode of Ray Donovan is entitled “Girl With Guitar.” It refers to a painting Ray notices while visiting the high-end gallery of art dealer Sonia Kovitzky. Wearing ridiculously large eyeglasses, Kovitzky explains that the subject in the painting was the artist’s daughter. But that’s not the painting in question. Kovitzky smuggled two Da Silva paintings into the country for a client but Detective Muncie intercepted. Kovitzky wants Ray “to speak” with Muncie on her behalf. Ray tells her he doesn’t bribe cops.
Sonia Kovitzky is portrayed by Embeth Davidtz. She is known for her roles on Mad Men (Rebecca Pryce) and Californication (Felicia Koons), and is recognized for her roles in The Amazing Spider-Man movies (Mary Parker), Bridget Jones’s Diary (Natasha), Mansfield Park (Mary Crawford), The Gingerbread Man (Mallory Doss), Matilda (the nice teacher, Miss Honey), and Schindler’s List (Helen Hirsch), among others. Ray Donovan airs Sundays at 9pm on Showtime.
