Visitors to Ireland are in for several literary treats this summer. As well as the Dalkey Book Festival, Bloomsday, the International Dublin Literary Award celebration, and several summer schools, lovers of books can also get up and close and personal with some of the world’s finest writers during the International Literature Festival Dublin, which runs May 21st to 29th. Promoting literature from around the world, the Festival will lay host to such authors as France’s Maylis de Kerangal, Colombia’s Juan Gabriel Vásquez, South Korea’s Lee Seung-U, and Germany’s Larissa Boehning. Last year’s Nobel laureate, Svetlana Alexievich, is also appearing.
The Festival Dublin — which takes place in a variety of venues around the city — will also host fiction workshops, debates, screenings, and musical and theatre performances. For information on tickets, email [email protected].
