A former senior money editor at US News & World Report, Kimberly Palmer wrote Smart Mom, Rich Mom: How to Build Wealth While Raising a Family because it needed to be written — plain and simple. Because the one thing every mother in every income bracket needs is a playbook for financial security — and a plan to deliver health, prosperity and opportunities for her children.
2paragraphs: Smart Mom, Rich Mom is already highly ranked at Amazon and having an impact — Why do you think your book and your message is connecting so powerfully with people?
Kimberly Palmer: In many ways, money is the last frontier of sexism that we’re still fighting. Women earn less, save less and invest less than men — even though in today’s families, the responsibility of managing the household finances increasingly falls on moms. We have to do something to equalize this gender gap and increase the chances of our children growing up with financial stability. My book offers a road map for how to do that, and I think it’s a message that resonates with a lot of moms.
