Three entrepreneurs from Seattle – Keri Andrews, Alesia Glidewell and Douglas Jordan — created You Kick Ass, LLC in 2013. They created personalized superhero action figures based on photos of real people using 3D printing technology. Keri and Alesia pitched the business on Shark Tank in 2015 and landed a deal with Mark Cuban ($100,000 for 10 percent, just what they asked for).

The You Kick Ass website is still in beta (really beta), the shop is unavailable, and its social media accounts don’t seem to be live either. However there are other companies that can deliver 3D sculptures using facial reconstruction and facial analysis including ThatsMyFace.com, which was founded by a PhD grad from University of Cambridge’s Computer Laboratory. A custom 12” action figure goes for $129.
Update: 2paragraphs received confirmation from You Kick Ass co-founder Keri Andrews in April 2016, that You Kick Ass unfortunately went out of business earlier in the year.
