The Bar Rescue episode “Land of the Beer and Home of the Misbehaved” focuses on St. Louis bar and restaurant owner Andrea Ervin. She owns the Italian family restaurant Mama’s on the Hill and the sports bar O’Kelley’s Pub, which is just two blocks away from Busch Stadium. When she opened O’Kelley’s in 2012, business was great — $75,000 a month great. But when her manager quit at Mama’s, she left O’Kelley’s in the hands of long-time employee Kim and nephew Cameron. Kim had no experience as a manager and bartender Cameron is a wild card. With O’Kelley’s losing $6,500 a month — and $700,000 in debt — Ervin calls Jon Taffer of Bar Rescue to come to her aid. Taffer renovates O’Kelley’s which is now known as Pastimes on 4th (it’s located at 756 S 4th Street).
Bar Rescue isn’t Ervin’s first time on TV. In 2013, she and her husband Lance were on Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible. The show’s host Robert Irvine came to Mama’s to turn the restaurant around after two employees stole from the restaurant leaving the business in the hole. Bar Rescue airs Sundays at 9pm on Spike.
