On the Better Call Saul episode “Cobbler,” Chuck McGill (Michael McKean) is playing the piano. The sheet music has the name Rebecca Bois written on the top corner. Two episodes later and Better Call Saul fans are still trying to figure out who Rebecca Bois is — and they assume/hope to get a glimpse of her in the episode titled “Rebecca” which will air on March 14.
There is speculation on Reddit that Rebecca is either Chuck’s ex-wife or Chuck and Jimmy’s mother. Reddit user filmschlubspodcast is betting on the ex-wife storyline as in the 1.03 teaser, Chuck is wearing a wedding ring. “They wouldn’t plant that seed if they didn’t want the option to use it someday,” filmschlub writes. Plus, the McGill’s mother died in 1999 which would make the mother plot “a little more difficult, but not impossible.” Note: The piece of music Chuck plays is “Sicilienne” which was composed by Fauré for the 1893 play Pelléas and Mélisande — it’s about a man who discovers his wife has fallen in love with his brother. Better Call Saul airs Mondays at 10pm on AMC.
