Good Morning America’s chief meteorologist Ginger Zee is wowing America as a celebrity contestant on Dancing with the Stars. After her first performance with pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy, judge Carrie Ann Inaba compared Ginger to last season’s Mirror Ball trophy winner Bindi Irwin.
Fun fact about Ginger: Her father grew up in the Netherlands and learned English by watching the 1960s American sitcom Gilligan’s Island. Ginger says she was named after the sexy Hollywood starlet portrayed by Tina Louise on the show. “But I think I’m more of a Mary Ann,” Ginger said while recording a clue for the quiz show Jeopardy! On March 28, Ginger and Val will perform a Samba to the Justin Bieber song “Sorry.” Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
