In September 2014, Bar Rescue star Jon Taffer paid a visit to the Antioch, Illinois bar the Dirty Rooster. He wasn’t impressed with owner Robert “Rob” Hoffman but Taffer gave the bar a makeover nonetheless and changed the name to Lake Marie Lodge. But at the end of 2015, Lake Marie Lodge closed.
On Facebook, Rob wrote that he was trying to sell the POS system given to the bar by Bar Rescue. When his Facebook friends asked why Lake Marie Lodge closed, Rob wrote: “That part on my show [Bar Rescue] about me and Scott hating each other is real. So Scott decided to sue the bar and me personally for 125k…. That was enough to put me over the edge. Not to mention the state of Illinois get a tax on it because they saw me giving away alcohol on TV that cost me $12,000. Time to move on.” Literally. According to his Facebook timeline, Rob moved to West Milton, Ohio in February. Bar Rescue airs Sundays at 9pm on SPIKE.
