The TV movie The Craiglist Killer is based on the real life of Philip Markoff. The future of the 22-year-old Boston University med student was bright. But he allegedly had a dark, violent side of him that he kept a secret — even from his fiancée, Megan McAllister. Markoff was accused of attacking several women (and killing one) who had advertised erotic services on the web site, Craigslist. The movie is based on the book, A Date with Death: The Secret Life of the Accused “Craigslist Killer” by Boston crime journalist Michele McPhee. The word “allegedly” is used repeatedly as Markoff committed suicide in jail while awaiting trial in August 2010.

The Craigslist Killer will air on LMN on February 4 at 8pm and February 5 at 12am.
