Jeremy Lin made a big impact last time the Charlotte Hornets played the defending Eastern Conference champion Cleveland Cavaliers. The reserve guard had one of those nights Lin fans always expect from him and which come too infrequently now — due to his own miscues or his playing time woes, hard to say. In a 106-97 victory against the Cavs earlier this month, Lin led the Hornets with 24 points and eight assists.
Last night Lin played well again against LeBron & Co., though he wasn’t able to contribute to a victory. Lin shook off his shooting woes, connecting on 4-of-9, making 1-of-2 three-pointers while adding four assists in 25 minutes. The surging Cavaliers, however, playing at home, took the Hornets down 114-103. The Hornets (29-27) currently hold the #8 spot in the Eastern Conference playoff picture, which would pit them against the Cavs in round one. Lin — and Lin fans — probably like that picture.
