In the TV movie Love on the Sidelines, recent college graduate Laurel Welk (Emily Kinney) wants a job as a fashion designer but ends up working as a personal assistant. Her first job is working with injured superstar quarterback Danny Holland. At first, Danny isn’t thrilled with the idea of having a woman who knows nothing about football being his assistant. But then he gets to know her and falls in love with her.

Danny is portrayed by John Reardon. The Canadian actor is best known for his roles on The Killing (Charles Ross), Continuum (Greg), Arctic Air (Blake Laviolette), and When Calls the Heart (Nate), among others. Fun facts about Reardon: He was an all-star college football player in Canada for Mounta Allison University from 1993 to 1997, and he’s married to actress Meghan Ory (Red Riding Hood on Once Upon a Time). Love on the Sidelines premieres on Hallmark Channel on January 16 at 9pm.
