When father and daughter have a heart-to-heart, Kenya cries to him, “I needed you as a teenager. I needed my dad,” she says. To which her father quickly replies, “We do the best we can with the cards we’re dealt.” Kenya’s parents were 16-years-old when Kenya was born. Her mother, Patricia Moore, talked about putting Kenya up for adoption. Ronald asked his mother, Doris Grant, to raise Kenya. The mother of five children agreed. Kenya says that when she did see Patricia at family gatherings as a child, “She would treat me like I was invisible,” says Kenya. Kenya hasn’t communicated with her mother since she was 12. Her father does stay in touch with her. The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sundays at 8pm on Bravo.
