Avalon Young is competing on the 15th and final season of American Idol. She practically has show business in her blood. Well, at least on her skin. At her audition, judge Keith Urban asks about the tattoo on her arm. Young reads it aloud: “Yes the picture is changing every moment and your destination you don’t know it.” She explains that they are lyrics from the song she was named after, “Avalon” by Brian Ferry and Roxy Music
The 21-year-old waitress from San Diego, California doesn’t sing “Avalon” for her preliminary audition. She chooses Beyonce’s XO with her acoustic guitar. Urban likes what he hears, and digs Avalon Young‘s story. Her picture really is changing every moment. American Idol airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8pm on FOX.
