Stacy and Jason Bingham are the parents of five children, all of whom are at risk of a rare and life-threatening heart disease. They first discovered the illness in their eldest, Sierra, in May 2006 when she threw up for several days. She was quickly diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, heart failure. Without an immediate heart transplant, their daughter would die they were told. Sierra was lucky, she received her new heart. But six years later, her little sister Lindsey started to complain about a stomach ache. When they brought Lindsay to the same place they had taken Sierra six years earlier, all the children were tested. The Binghams were told all of their children either had dilated cardiomyopathy or symptoms of it. Lindsey received a transplant, too, in 2013.
